It is unclear to me and to others if your comment was intended to describe me....or intended to describe the dam scammers who profited in money and in pride for getting an unnecessary project permitted, financed and built by hook or crook.

Since I know the truth, I will assume that you are referring to Greensboro's "special interests" (growth, profit from $150 million projects, promotions, salary increases, real estate profits, etc.) that obscured the facts and reason and caused city officials to deceive the public, the state and the feds.

Lex Alexander, the N&R's former medical blogger makes a "diagnosis" equivalent to journalistic malpractice. Nice.

And Fec, I don't know why I expect better from you. But I do.

The Randleman Dam is a joke. Locals spent years in Court fighting over the land (lake-front property being perceived to be a big deal - and greed being a primary motivating factor). Even the US Army Corps of Engineers withdrew support for the project as it was originally conceived because the cost did not justify the imagined benefits.

As far as I know, nobody is getting water from it - especially not the small town that hosts it. Fishing and boating are severely restricted.

Maybe, just maybe, Mike Baron was treated CRIMINALLY.

What is your take on my water use history chart? Do you dismiss it because it's fiction?... or are my numbers correct? You didn't say. Did Greensboro's forecast of future water needs come true?... or was the forecast a fabrication to justify the Randleman Dam? You didn't say. Has water use declined over 15 years?... or has it increased? You didn't say. Are citizens informed? ...or are they misinformed as shown in my survey? You didn't say. Has Greensboro eliminated it water conservation program?... or expanded it? You didn't say.

Mike, it really is scary that Greensboro citizens show so little interest in the "dam scam" and they are the very ones who will be paying.

I appreciate all of your efforts and cannot understand why no one has picked up this story and published it. Amazing and disgusting that not one of the Greensboro residents has showed up at the city council meeting to ask questions about increasing water rates. I no longer live in the city but if I did, I would want to ask someone, anyone, about the need for the Randleman Dam?
